Opening Thoughts for Chapter 2 Discussion

It turns out that Mr. and Mrs. Bennet do not differ so greatly, at least in terms of their willingness to entertain the thought of Mr. Bingley as a future son-in-law. Mrs. Bennet's over-the-top eagerness to practically fall upon Bingley, perhaps as soon as he dismounts his horse, is only matched by her husband, who - though more practical and polite in his social gesture - yet remains "among the earliest of those who waited on Mr. Bingley."

This chapter is great fun to read as you watch the fun that Mr. Bennet has with his wife and daughters over this whole Bingley affair.
